How do my safety equipment work? How do I change clothes?
Every person on the wild ice should do a rescue exercise.
The aim of the rescue exercise
To give the participant additional knowledge and experiential skills in rescue.
The participant will gain experiential knowledge about the functionality of safety equipment and how to use it.
The participant will gain additional knowledge of his/her own reactions in case of an avalanche.
The participant's fear of being on natural ice will be reduced.
The exercise is generally perceived as enjoyable and very useful.
Content
The exercise is carried out in a controlled and organised manner, using safety equipment.
Theoretical rescue basics are reviewed.
Review of the stages of rescue on ice.
Entering the open/shallow ice with a safety rope.
Practise ascending from the ice with the help of a harness and a throwing line.
Practise putting on an effective change of clothing with the help of a group.
After the plunge, dry clothes can often be changed indoors. Sometimes there is an opportunity to take a sauna after the exercise (not included in the price).
If possible, the use of an ice-axe for rescue is also practised.
For whom
For all those who enjoy the outdoors. Please notify in advance of any illness or disposition that may affect your ability to participate in the exercise.
This exercise is highly recommended and is an important part of the basic training of an outdoors skier.
Open and recommended to all other outdoor recreationists.
To participate in the rescue exercise, you must have completed either the Basic Skijumper Training (at least the theory part) or Ice Skills 1.
You should not take part if for health reasons open water swimming is not recommended for you.
If there are less than 5 registrations, the group may be cancelled. You will be notified by separate message and the booking fee will be refunded.

It is advisable to wear normal, weather-appropriate clothing for the exercise, in order to get the most realistic impression of the functionality of the equipment and any shortcomings. Skates are not required, but spare shoes are necessary.
